A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club: Grant Reports

"Every Member Every Year" is an education strategy deployed at A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club and designed to increase the high school graduation rate of participating teens. The program promotes the importance of high school graduation, building school and parent partnerships and providing academic support to our Club Members and teens who are at risk of dropping out of school.

Funding sources include the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham as the primary funder.

Youth participating in this program attend school at Wenonah High School, Woodlawn High School and Bessemer City High School.  28 teens initially signed up for the program, with 20 teens remaining active throughout the entire program and meeting the Alabama High School Graduation requirement.

In addition, some 250 other Club Members benefitted from additional educational programs offered daily at our Clubs, including programs such as “Homework Help,” “Tutoring,” “Project Learn,” “Goals for Graduation,” and classes in the Fine Arts, including music and art.
