Health and Life Skills Programs: A.G. Gaston Boys & Girls Club

SMART Moves: This is a nationally-acclaimed, comprehensive prevention program helping young people resist alcohol, tobacco and drug use, as well as premature sexual activity.


Passport to Manhood: Another acclaimed program teaches our young men, ages 11 to 14, the importance of being responsible. It reinforces the positive behavior that is taught to our young boys and gives them tools to help them resist the negative peer pressure the face on a daily basis.

Street SMART: This excellent program counteracts the negative lures of gangs, violence and "street" influences on young people, ages 11 - 13. While building awareness and resistance skills, participants develop the confidence and knowledge to make intelligent choices.

Smart Girls: A 60-hour, activity-based program for girls 11 - 13 years of age, Smart Girls supports and inspires middle school girls to make smart choices and become confident, capable and self-reliant women. This program focuses on self-esteem development and health education..

Health and Nutrition Awareness: Good nutrition and the benefits of a healthy diet are key components of this program, which is presented to all Club members.
